Sue Hockey
Sue hockey began her creative dance experience at 17 under the tutelage of her mother, Dorotea Mangiamele, the founder of Mangala Creative Dance. For 10 years she gained experience with children working as a Pre-School mothercraft nurse for Melbourne City Council. While continuing her dance studies including several public performances with Mangala Studios, she was Co-ordinator at Parkville Children’s Centre.
She continued with yoga and creative dance training while then freelancing at John St Community early Childhood co-op and several private classes for pre-schoolers.
From about 2006 Sue became Principal of the Children’s section of Mangala Studios. She has lectured in children’s dance teaching at Tertiary level (Victoria University) to Pre-School educators, and has worked extensively with several Montessori kindergartens in the Northern Suburbs. She has choreographed yearly dance and yoga demonstrations at Mangala Studios in Carlton
Sue has performed Creative Dance publicly including “Beacons Of Hope” at Apollo Bay in 2000.
She is currently teaching children’s yoga and dance at Croxton Uniting Church in Thornbury as well as being available for educative incursion at primary and preschool institutions.
