2:00 - 4:00pm I am keen to conduct an exploration of traditional asanas with preparations, counterposes and advanced form possibilities – taken from an individual perspective - with modifications and adaptions. With this personal approach we will be looking carefully at suitability and alternatives. Ultimately it is the effect of the asana practice on the quality and enjoyment of life rather than the asana itself which is important.
I would also like to consider the place asana holds in the preparation of the mind and body for the experience of yoga - yogascittavrttinirodhah – Yoga is the stilling of the modifications of the mind.
The session will be practical but paced to allow discussion and experimentation.
4:15 - 5:00pm After many years, I am still quite convinced of the usefulness and efficacy of this practice both for deep healing and as a tool for further yoga practices. Suitable for beginning and experienced students.
